Attitude is a way of feeling, thinking or behaving as the individual mind functions due to that and initiate behavior. Attitude typically imply a tendency to classify or categorize. Thus, one with a favorable attitude toward the Democratic party is likely to react favorably to all democrats disregarding their unique characteristics as individuals. Similarly, if the individual holds the attitude that “All Jews are aggressive,” in that situation, one will respoñd to Jewish people as if they were aggressive, whether or not they are in fact aggressive. Attitude is a relatively stable and enduring predisposition to behave or react in a certain way toward persons, objects, institutions, or issues. Stability is the personality characteristic of being relatively free from radical changes in mood. It is also reliability in some tests. Looked at from a slightly different point of view, as per the context theory of meaning, attitudes are tendencies to respond to people, ìnstitutions, or events either positively, or negatively. The source of attitudes are cultural, familial and personal. An individual tends to assume the attitudes that prevail in the culture, in which, one grows up. A large segment of these are passed on from generation to generation within the family structure. But, some of one’s attitudes are also developed as adult on the basis of induvidual’s experience. If it is the outcome of drawback, shortcoming, or setbacks it needs speculation in accordance with the facts and knowledge presented in the text of related field or reference books. Role of attitude in behavior is significant in many ways as it has an impact on thought, behavior, and action. An act or activity done by the individual is a pattern of purposive behavior directed toward a goal. The disillusionment of one Mr. B. who was entangled in drawback, shortcoming, and setbacks for many years because of the personal attitude by some incident in the absence of counselling or guidance from the expert in the field paved the way for enlightenment. It occurred due in course to the relatively stable and enduring predisposition to behave or react in a certain way toward persons, objects, institutions, or issues in the lime-light of excitatory and inhibitory phenomena. Predisposition is any hereditary characteristic favoring the development of a certain trait. Here, hereditary characteristic is hereditary belief passed on from parent to child, from one generation to following generations as character trait, a relatively consistent and persistent form of behavior as viewed from the moral or ethical point of view. The attitude as acquired in a period of dependency during young age gives rise to rēlibility because of the trust in elders. It happens in the life of an individual that one returns to the relugious resources of an early life. Trust is must and it moves the mountain. Attitude is according to social psychologists,”Important sources of adult attitudes are propaganda and suggestion from authority, business, educational institutions, and other agencies that seek to influence conduct. Because attitudes differ in degree as well as in kind, psychologists have devised techniques for the measurement of attitudes. Several types of attitude scales have been developed for use with individuals and groups and mass techniques of public opinion polling have been developed for the assessment of national attitudes.
