In general, to influence people there are five modes of responding, i.e., evaluation, interpretation, support, probing, and understanding. Out of which, the first two modes are not used in initial stages as only supporting, probing, and understanding responses would accomplish the desired goal, why because, evaluative and interpretative responses give rise to anger or feelings of hostility. These two responses are needed when there is no way for other responses and in second or third stage of the person who is a subject of concern in general or therapeutic intervention. Therapeutics is a branch of medicine concerned with remedial agents in illness and in health. Total treatment takes into account the medicinal approach as well as psychological techniques to make extinct shock, fear, suspicion, or ill-effects of maladjustment or misconception. In first stage, respect, concreteness, empathy etc., in second stage confrontation, immediacy, advanced accurate empthy and so on and in third stage ways or subgoals are set to follow. Respect the individual first. Concreteness means pertaining to the specific or particular instance, as opposed to the general or abstract. Concrete, that is, practical, utilitarian and is sometimes said of intelligence, meaning thereby, that which can be touched, seen, or imagined as real.Besides, empathy, that means projecting one’s own feelings into an event, a natural object, or an aesthetic product. In other words, the realization and understanding of another person’s feelings, needs, and suffering. Confrontation is given to the person who is facing yourself if one is not sincere or honest in one’s approach or not choosing one goal even after the instances of East, West, North, or South were given by you. Immediacy in second stage is felt on listening carefully the talk of the person whom with you are concerned. Respond immediately as per the need of the hour. Advanced accurate empathy is given only after when you decide it is the same feeling, need, or suffering of the person opposite to yourself. Ways and subgoals are searched to make a rough estimate or out of which the client or patient may select for oneself. Five modes of responding. Evaluative response. You are fool. You are not intelligent. You don’t have the sense of judging people. These are some examples of evaluative responses. Interpretative response. You are fail because you did not do the studies and spent the whole time in mobile phone. Support. O.K. I will help you but you first tell me how you will pay my loan. It is a supportive response. Probing. Probing means questioning but not like an inspector of police. What did you see there in the field of paddy ? Understanding. You told me that when you visited my house your mother accompanied you there. It is an understanding response.
